Core functionality
Automated cookie scan, audit and declaration
Once a month Cookiebot will scan your website for cookies (HTTP/Javascript cookies, HTML5 Local Storage, Flash Local Shared Object, Silverlight Isolated Storage) and generate a cookie declaration with descriptions on every single cookie found on your website.

The report is available to your website users as part of the consent dialog details pane or as a separate cookie report. In the Cookie Manager you will be able to see on which URL a cookie was first discovered which makes it easy for you to identify the scripts setting cookies.

As a suplement you can publish the cookie declaration in a printable format on any of your webpages, e.g. as part of your privacy policy, by simply including a javascript-code that automatically injects the latest version of the declaration into your webpage. The declaration also shows the user's current consent state (declined or accepted) and offers the user the statutory option of changing a consent.

Example: All content in our own Cookie Declaration is automatically generated by Cookiebot by inserting just one line of javascript code.

You can use the cookie report together with our free consent dialog or any other consent solution that you may prefer.
Collect cookie consents from your website users
Cookiebot displays a user friendly, no-nonsense dialog the first time a user visits your website - no matter what page the user first lands on. The dialog informs the user about the use of cookies and asks for consent to store cookies on the user’s web enabled device (computer, tablet, smartphone, game console, smart TV etc.), all with minimum impact on the overall user experience.

Cookiebot remembers the user’s choice for a year. If you change the purpose of your cookie usage (eg. introduce marketing cookies), the user is automatically prompted to renew the consent.

Cookiebot offers full support of the legally required prior consent so that only strictly necessary cookies are set before the user consents. Also Cookiebot supports implied consent which submits a consent automatically if the user clicks a link on your website without answering the consent dialog. This method produces the highest possible level of cookie accepts - with a typical acceptance rate between 85 and 95 percent of the users.
Bulk consent for multiple domains
If you own multiple websites Cookiebot can ask your users for a consent that covers all your domains. By enabling this option your users will only be prompted for a consent the first time they visit any of your websites.
Support and auto-detect any language
Text in the consent dialog can be customised with an unlimited number of language variants in the browser-based manager. Default text templates in 29 languages (27 European languages as well as Turkish and Arabic) are available in the Cookiebot manager. Furthermore, Cookiebot enables automatic language detection to show the consent dialog in the individual website user's preferred language.
Only show to visitors from the EU
By enabling this option the cookie consent dialog will only be shown to visitors whose IP is detected to be in one of the EU member states where the EU ePrivacy Directive applies.
Reporting: Insight on user consents
Cookiebot consent chart example Cookiebot documents every consent and registers the first page that the user visits - even when using implied consent (the user's continued use of your website without answering the consent dialog) where you normally can't log the first page.

Cookiebot provides dynamic reports and XML data on all consents.
Configuration
Easy implementation on your website
Cookiebot is a platform independent cloud service that can be used with any website. Copy just one line of JavaScript code from the Cookiebot manager into your website to show your own Cookie Declaration and/or cookie consent dialog.
White-list strictly necessary cookies
Some cookies are strictly necessary in order to make your website work correctly. Under the EU Cookie Directive you can set this type of cookie without the user’s prior consent. In the Cookiebot manager you can classify relevant cookies as necessary so that Cookiebot will not block any strictly necessary cookies.
Application Programming Interface (API)
Cookiebot exposes a JavaScript object with a number of public properties, methods and events that you can use in your website's front-end code. For example you can use the object to check if the user has accepted or declined the use of cookies, or you can let the user change a given consent.
Compability
Cross browser support
The front-end consent collector script works in all leading HTML4 and HTML5 compliant web browsers with support for JavaScript and Secure Socket Layer (SSL). The Cookiebot manager is optimised for the newest and previous version of the top 5 web browsers, Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera.
Support of accessibility standards
To accomodate users that use assistive software such as screen readers Cookiebot supports W3C's accessibility standards WCAG 2.0 and WAI-ARIA.
Respects 'Do not track' setting
If a user has opted out of tracking by websites in the web browser’s general DNT-settings (Do-Not-Track), Cookiebot does not set the third party cookie "CookieConsentBulkTicket" that enables bulk consent by identifying the user across your websites.
Compatible with third party scripts
The front-end consent collector script can be used in conjunction with any other third party embedded script such as Google Analytics and AddThis as well as embedded Javascript libraries like jQuery, Prototype and MooTools.
Support of Modern Type user interface
Cookiebot works with both traditional websites and modern single-page applications (SPA), also known as single-page interface (SPI). The Cookiebot API includes designated methods for SPA-developers.
Platform
Fast, stable and light-weight
Cookiebot runs on Microsoft’s cloud platform, Microsoft Azure, and thereby scales with your needs. The front-end collector script does not depend on any external libraries and loads a minimum of code based on a context aware and cacheable dual-layer AJAX loading mechanism.
Maximum security
Consents are automatically collected through a secured SSL-connection and all consents are stored as strongly encrypted keys.
