It aims to regulate dominant digital platforms, such as ecommerce marketplaces and search engines, to prevent anti-competitive practices and promote innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DMA applies to companies who operate one or more core platform services (CPS). These companies are defined as a gatekeepers. To date, seven companies have been designated as gatekeepers: Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Booking.com, ByteDance, Meta, Microsoft.
